For printed applications it should appear on either the front or back of the material. On digital applications such as websites it should be placed in the header or footer section.
Logo or Lockup?
Our logo is technically called a lockup - We follow the University's academic rules and policies surrounding its use.
All departments and units must utilize the official College of Veterinary Medicine trademark commonly referred to as a logo or lockup and its approved secondary lockups (Hospitals, Centers, and Institutes) on all official channels, including university websites, printed brochures, and lead communications. Strict adherence to Cornell's standardized visual guidelines and the exclusive use of the official College ofVeterinary Medicine logo is mandatory. Entities must refrain from creating or using any competing marks. For guidance, please review brand.cornell.edu

Supporting Graphics
What are Supporting Graphics?
Supporting graphics can include combinations of colors from our brand palette, icons, shapes, and patterns. We understand that our entities may wish to utilize supporting graphics to foster a distinctive appearance within Cornell's brand standards framework. However, it's important to note that these elements should not be used as a logo or substitute for the official entity logo/lockup.
Integrating supporting graphics with text, mainly when it includes a unit's name or acronym, presents challenges. Merging graphic elements with typography may cause them to be mistaken for the unit's official visual identity. Repeated occurrences of this issue could result in these elements overshadowing the official Cornell Veterinary Medicine logo and its sub-brands (Hospitals, Centers, andInstitutes). As a result, it is strictly prohibited to use supporting graphics as a substitute for the official logo.
Requests for artwork
Entities are permitted to develop their own supporting graphics, but they must engage a professional designer to adhere to Cornell and the College of Veterinary Medicine’s brand standards. CVM MarCom has two design professionals on staff and can also provide you with an up-to-date list of alternative Cornell-approved design vendors upon request. In addition to larger strategic work provided by University Relations Creative Services, please note that CVM MarCom must review all final elements before widespread use to ensure compliance with established standards.
